This short film documents ‘Flying into the Dawn’, a  site-specific installation by sonic artistThor McIntyre-Burnie which re-awoke the Farnborough Wind Tunnels throughout June and July 2014.

Set in two enormous test hangers as part of The Wind Tunnel Project 2014, the piece invited audience members to explore the never before open space, and was commissioned by Artliner and V&A curator Salma Tuqan.

The film above provides an artists commentary, with narration from McIntyre-Burnie. We also made four shorter films, without commentary, which seek to provide a sense of this site-specific work, and demands GOOD QUALITY HEADPHONES or sound system. These films were exhibited in the UK design for Performance Exhibition in 2015.
